Moravian Missionaries and Delaware Natives
came from Ohio and established the village
in 1792. The village was destroyed in the
Battle of the
Thames, during which the Shawnee leader, Chief
Tecumseh was killed. Also close by is an Iroquoian
Village and Museum.
The
extended warm season in southwestern Ontario
can offer golfers 10 months on a course. Dine
at a variety of restaurants in the area. Visit
many specialty shops and boutiques in the
little communities in the area. Many weekend
festivals throughout the area, such as car
shows and sidewalk days. Enjoy fishing for
pickerel in Lake Erie, or bird watching at
nearby provincial parks.
